Pilates is an exercise system focused on improving flexibility and strength for the whole body, without building bulk. Pilates develops a strong ‘core’ or centre of the body.
The core consists of deep abdominal muscles along with the muscles closest to the spine. Pilates emphasises proper breathing, correct spinal and pelvic alignment and concentrates on smooth flowing movement.
The quality of movement is valued over quantity and repetitions. Proper breathing is essential to help you execute movements with maximum efficiency. A body with balanced strength and flexibility is less likely to be injured.
We currently have 5 different types of Classes/Courses which are distinctly different.
- Intermediate /advanced Mat classes.
- Beginner Plus mat classes
- Beginner/Back Specific Pilates.
- Post Natal Pilates
- Reformer Pilates – 3 different levels
or Indoor cycling is for everyone who wishes to get fitter, lose weight or tone up. Spinning is going from strength to strength around the world and it is very easy to why. It’s such a simple set up. A Spinning Bike and you. That’s it, no other gadget. And then of course the Music – which is a vital part of the class.
One of the great things about the Spinning program is that it doesn’t exclude anyone. In your class you can have a hard core cyclist, a 76 year old lady, a pregnant girl and a very unfit overweight person. YOU work within your comfort zone, YOU are in charge of the bike. If you follow this very basic advice you will over a very short period experience how your level of fitness improves dramatically.
Begin To Spin Course
We frequently have these courses on the program. They have proven extremely popular and are a great way to get started on your Spinning journey. Many people have heard horror stories about Spinning: “Its way to hard” “ “I couldn’t walk for a week afterwards” “I nearly fainted in the middle of the class” ect ect. BUT it shouldn’t be like that!! The Begin to Spin course teach’s step by step how to become a Spinner and by the end you feel confident about joining one of our regular classes.
Zumba is a beautiful cocktail of latin inspiration fused with the musical roots of salsa, merengue, cha-cha, belly dance and african tribal dance. It mixes a bit of hip hop, a pinch of reggaeton, and a smidge of latin fever with a dash of tribal to create the most delicious concoction the fitness world can taste!
